Dr. Deacon Farrell, MD, MSc

Pain Medicine and Regenerative Medicine


Dr. Deacon Farrell is a board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain specialist based in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. His clinical expertise centers on spine and pelvic disorders, regenerative medicine, and minimally invasive interventional pain procedures, with a particular focus on opioid reduction and functional restoration.

He currently serves as Director of Pain Management and Interventional Pain Medicine at Pacific Oaks Medical Group, and as Director of Anesthesia at Southern California Hospitals Center. In addition, Dr. Farrell is the North American Medical Director at VitVio, where he oversees the integration of intraoperative artificial intelligence technologies to optimize surgical outcomes. He is also the co-founder of Orella, Inc., a patient-centered digital health platform designed to expand access to specialty care in underserved communities.

Dr. Farrell is affiliated with several leading medical institutions across Southern California, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Hollywood Presbyterian, Corona Medical Center, Memorial Hospital, Azura Surgical Centers, and Wave Medical.

He earned his medical degree from the National University of Ireland, studying both genetic human engineering and medicine and surgery at the campuses in Co Cork and Co Limerick. He also holds a Master of Science in Molecular Medicine from Imperial College London. Dr. Farrell completed his anesthesiology residency at NYU Langone – Brooklyn/University Hospital Brooklyn, supported by a FAER (Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research) scholarship from the American Society of Anesthesiology. He went on to complete two advanced fellowships in regenerative medicine, ultrasound-guided acute pain management, and interventional chronic pain medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was involved with leadership at the pain department.

A global thought leader in healthcare technology and AI integration, Dr. Farrell has led the deployment of artificial intelligent systems in surgical settings, bridging the gap between clinical medicine and next-generation innovation. He has conducted award-winning research on the effects of anesthetic agents on neural tissues, co-authored updated international brain trauma management guidelines, and, as of 2025, published pioneering work on the delivery of anesthesia for space travel.

Dr. Farrell is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and holds active medical licenses in California, New York, Florida, and New Jersey. He continues to be a leader at the forefront of medicine, science, and technology—with a strong foundation in empathy and a deep commitment to patient-centered care.
